In this document, “we” or “us” refers to Golf Genie (PTY) Ltd.

This policy governs the way we treat your personal information collected electronically when you use our website.

We are committed to respecting the privacy of your data and this Privacy Policy complies with South African legislation.

Except as set out below, we do not share, or sell, or disclose to a third party, any personally identifiable information collected on this site.

Here is a list of the information we collect from you, either through our web site or as provided to us in some other way, and why it is necessary to collect it.

Business and personal information

This includes basic identification and contact information, such as your name and contact details and includes all information given to us in the course of your business and ours, such as information you give us in your capacity as our client. We undertake to preserve the confidentiality of the information and the terms of our relationship. It is not used for any other purpose.

This information is used:

  • to provide you with the services which you request;
  • for verifying your identity for security purposes;
  • for marketing our services and products;
  • the information which does not identify any individual may be used in a general way by us or third parties, relating to demographics or usage of a page or service.

We keep the information, which forms part of our business record for a minimum of six years. That is because we may need it in some way to support a claim or defence in court.

Marketplace information

When we obtain information from you specifically to enable you to buy a service offered on our web site by another individual or business, we assume that in giving us your information, you are also permitting us to pass it to the relevant individual.

Your domain name and email address

This information is recognized by our servers and the pages that you visit are recorded. We shall not under any circumstances, divulge your email address to any person who is not an employee or contractor of ours and who does not need to know, either generally or specifically. Information you send to us by posting to a forum or blog or in your advertisement is stored on our servers. We do not specifically use that information except to allow it to be read, but we reserve the right to use it in any way we decide.

When you leave a comment on this site, we send your name, email address, IP address and comment text to example.com. Example.com does not retain your data.

Website usage information

We may use software embedded in our website (such as JavaScript) to collect information about pages you view and how you have reached them, what you do when you visit a page, the length of time you remain on the page, and how we perform in providing content to you.

Financial information relating to your credit cards

We may keep your financial information to provide you with a better shopping experience next time you visit us and to prevent fraud.

Our website is a publishing medium where anyone may register and publish personal information. We invite you to report any unauthorized content and are committed to following appropriate procedures to remove infringing content from the service if we receive proper notice.

Information we obtain from third parties

Although we do not disclose your personal information to any third party (except as set out in this notice), we do receive data that is indirectly made up from your personal information, from software services such as Google Analytics and others. No such information is identifiable to you.

If you provide information to us with a view to it being read, copied, downloaded or used by other people, we accept no responsibility for what that third party may do with it.

  • Embedded content from other websites Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. For example, both Administrators and Shop Managers can access:

Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased and where it should be sent, and

Our team members have access to this information to help fulfil orders, process refunds and support you.

What we share with others:

Payments

We accept payments through SID. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to SID including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.

Re-marketing

We may use remarketing from time to time. This involves Google or some other supplier placing a tag or marker on your website to be able to serve you an advert for our products/services when you visit some other website.

We use the “visitor action pixels” from Facebook Inc (1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA, or, if you are based in the EU, Facebook Ireland Ltd., 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland (“Facebook”)) on our website. This allows user behaviour to be tracked after they have been redirected to the provider’s website by clicking on a Facebook ad. This enables us to measure the effectiveness of Facebook ads for statistical and market research purposes. The data collected in this way is anonymous to us, i.e. we do not see the personal data of individual users. However, this data is stored and processed by Facebook, which is why we are informing you, based on our knowledge of the situation. Facebook may link this information to your Facebook account and also use it for its promotional purposes, following Facebook’s Data Usage Policy https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/. You can allow Facebook and its partners to place ads on and off Facebook. A cookie may also be stored on your computer for these purposes. The legal basis for the use of this service is Art. 6 paragraph 1 sentence 1 letter of GDPR.
